I played ice hockey my entire life. It’s pretty much all I did growing up.
I was lucky enough to have parents who sent me to an elite Russian only speaking ice hockey summer camp with some of the worlds best players (yes I speak Russian - badly).
I remember learning more from the Russians in one month, than I learned from my high school coach in two years.
One of the players I played with, and learned from, ended up getting the largest NHL contract in history at the time, over $100 million. I watched him (with a huge smile) achieve many of his professional goals (pardon the hockey pun).
He became captain of an NHL team, and won the gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
His secrets were: he had that fire, a crazy work ethic, raw talent of course, and amazing guides and coaches along the way.
I find success is also a lot like cooking a great meal (which if you want to stay alive, don't allow me to do for you).
